Welcome Mathematicians!
Class 1, 2, 4: Kaleidoscopes, Hubcaps, and Mirrors, a unit on symmetry and transformations.
This week we will study congruence. We will compare size and shape and identify conditions necessary to create congruent triangles. We will also apply our study of symmetry to tessellations and origami.
Students should be working on Accelerated Math for 15 minutes every night or every other night.By the end of the term, students should have a total of 20 objectives for the semester and 80 objectives for the year.
Class 3, 6: Say it with Symbols, a unit on algebraic symbolism.
This week students will complete the problems in Investigation 3. This investigation focuses on solving equations.
Students will have a quiz on symplifying expressions and solving equations (linear and quadratic) on Friday, June 13th.
Students should be working on Accelerated Math for 15 minutes every night or every other night, depending on the number of objectives they have. By the end of the term, students should have a total of 20 objectives for the semester and 80 objectives for the year.
