Highlights from grade one 209
The groundhog saw her shadow, so 6 more weeks of cold weather. We had fun with groundhog activities and books.
We wrote Valentine acrostic poems in computer lab, illustrated them and hung them in the hallway.
We wrote love letters to our families.
We had a midyear math assessment. Results will be shared at conferences in March.
Mrs. Riley (2nd grade) and I are beginning plans for our Heritage Unit (enrichment). Please see attachments below and yellow hard copy coming home. Please consider sharing with us about a country. Save the date for the end of unit tasting party: MARCH 12, 2-3. Showtime for kids. (a little snafu with attachments. The correct attachments are in place now)
Remember to bring Valentines in for Friday, Feb. 12.
100 day project due Feb. 10.
Spelling words for Feb. 8-12: jelly, belly, bunny, funny, furry, hurry, take, came, world, over. Optional challenge words: alley, finally, really, usually, slippery.
Feb. 22 trip to The Warner. Please send a bag lunch that day or return form to order from the cafeteria.
