Behavioral Expectations
Be Respectful: Of yourself, each other, and the faculty of EHS.
Do not be late for class, value your education.
Use the facilities before or after class, our learning time is very valuable and should not be lost to the lav. Exceptions will be made for emergencies.
Students are expected to bring books, notebooks, and a writing utensil everyday.
There is no food or drink other than water, permitted in the classroom.
In the event of a fire drill you must report to me once we are outside.
In the event that you receive a detention, it should be served the next day.
Grading Procedures:
The following procedures will be utilized for the 2008 - 2009 school year.
Tests will equal 35% of the semester grade.
Projects will equal 30% of the semester grade.
Homework will equal 20% of the semester grade.
Class participation will equal 15% of the semester grade.
Homework:
Your homework is due in the beginning of class; late homework can be turned in within 24 hours for a maximum of 50% credit. (Exceptions can be made based on circumstances) (Does not apply to AP course)
Tests:
All students will have prior notice of tests. Test dates are also listed on my schoolnotes.com webpage. A test missed due to absence should be made up within 48 hours of the test date.
Projects:
All projects should be handed in on the assigned due date. Late projects lose 10 points each day. Be sure to cite your sources during research projects. Plagiarizing, to present the ideas or words of another as one’s own, will result in a ZERO for the assignment. All work must be cited!
Class Participation:
Class participation is defined as the students daily interaction and participation in class activities and discussions. In addittion, students will be evaluated based on their preparedness for class (text books, notebooks, writing utensil, etc.).
Extended Absences:
If you know that you’re going to be out for an extended period of time, be sure to let me know so that we can work out a plan to make up missed work. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure they get missed work.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Please check the EHS handbook for guidelines regarding what constitutes an excused absence. Loss of credit occurs when a student has accrued 22 absences for a full-year course or 11 absences for a half-year course.
