IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO PARENTS: The Internet is a global electronic information infrastructure. It is a network used by educators, businesses, government, the military, organizations, and private individuals. It is used to educate, inform, communicate, and entertain. As a learning resource, the Internet is similar to books, magazines, video, CD-ROM, and other information sources. However, it is an unregulated communication environment within which information changes constantly. Some of the information on the Internet is inappropriate for users, based on age and/or developmental levels. For this reason, parents are encouraged to closely monitor their children's' use of the Internet to better ensure that the possibility of inadvertent or unintentional access to objectionable data is avoided.
