Design Your Space Classes: We are learning to use the sewing machine. After skill stitching, we will be making coasters and then a pillowcase. In some classes, we have plans to refurbish an old chair with a new cushion and new paint. We hope to have two of these chairs ready for display for the 8th grade reception in June.
MY Style Classes: My Style classes are learning about the sewing machine and how to use the embroidery stitches they will use for embellishment on a cell phone/i-pod case. Some classes are working on a confetti zippered bag made from denium, tulle, and scraps of yarn and novelty threads. Other classes have begun to make personal tissue covers to give as gifts. Two other classes are now preparing to recylce clothing into new fashions. Students will work in groups and will have a set of rules to follow for this challenge. We hope to display the "new" fashions for the June 8th grade reception.
