Farewell to my 5th grade band students as they embark for a new school as 6th graders. Good luck in all you do! I look forward to my 4th graders becoming the 5th grade band!

 Music is the universal language of human expression. It lifts the spirit by delighting our senses and engaging our intellect, while also speaking directly to our hearts.

Learning to play music instills the qualities of concentration, perseverance, and discipline.

Playing music in an ensemble teaches coooperation and collaboration, while expressing our spirits and emotions.

The study of music also builds self-confidence, as students at any level learn that performance improves with dedicated practice.
