Welcome to Eastbury School - A family of friends where students and staff work to be "The Best We Can Be!"
Eastbury School's theme of "A Family of Friends" reflects our return to being a small community school of 350 students and our beautiful mural. It symbolizes our rebirth, working collaboratively, being kind and respectful, and celebrating each other.
At Eastbury we pride ourselves in being a community of learners where parents, students and staff work together to create a positive, child-centered learning environment that prepares students to be independent, lifelong learners and contributing citizens. We are committed to the belief that all children can learn. Teachers welcome parent involvement to help each child succeed and are dedicated to collaborating and increasing their own learning in the areas of literacy, reading comprehension, integration of technology, differentiated instruction, mathematical problem solving, process writing, and character education.
Students learn to celebrate and respect each other's similarities and differences. They develop character and leadership skills through community service initiatives, outreach activities, Key Club, Student Council and numerous classroom and cross-grade activities in reading, writing, research, mathematics, science, Spanish, art, music, p.e. and technology. Academically, our children excel on the Connecticut Mastery Tests. Eastbury School is a community of excellence working together.
I encourage parents and students to regularly read their teachers' and our PTO's web pages and explore their recommended web links. At this time not all of our teachers have learned how to create their own pages. Over time, I anticipate more will learn to take advantage of this excellent form of communication.
