Dear Parents,

I will be corresponding with parents via the web portal this year. I will make a few notes here to let you know we have been very busy in all our academic areas. The students used a brainstorming web to write down ideas for a story about a visit to a farm. They completed a written and illustrated brouchure for the City of Hartford. We are just about finished with our first letter in response to Pen Pal letters from our Naubuc friends. On Thurs. we met in Mrs. Celio's room with our Book Buddies and together the children composed Acrostic poems and wrote them on various Halloween patterns. They did a fabulous job! Mr. Popovich came in to our classroom to explain and demonstrate an important piece of equipment that can be helpful in hospitals.

Parent conferences will begin this week; if you are unable to make the assigned time, please call the office staff so I can be notified and I will be glad to reschedule another one for you.

In math we are working with double arrow frames  problems. Mrs. Donohue has visited us again, to continue her lessons on increasing problem solving strategies. Please have your child practice math facts at home. It helps with our Morning Math Boxes problems. In Science we are working with Measurement.           Reading Is Fun!
