Welcome to Mrs. Francoeur's American History Class

 

Enter the exciting world of Americn History. We will be studying the story of our proud nation from the colonial period to the Civil War.

Project assigned TODAY 12/8/09

 All Projects must be completed by Thursday, December 17th. Plan to stay for Homework Club if you need extra time or extra help! :)

Students will be creating an advertisement about the economic activities in one of the three colonial regions.

Projects will be completed in class over the next few days.Ask your son or daughter what they know about their assigned region.

8D Students had a wonderful time walking the Freedom Trail in Boston yesterday. The weather was beautiful and our students were very well behaved.

Thank You to our parent chaperones who helped make this trip possible. We couldn't have done it without you!

8D Teachers are VERY PROUD INDEED!!!!!

Reminder - Boston Wednesday, November 4, 2009

1. Arrive at school at the normal time

2. Dress appropriately - jeans, long sleeves, sweatshirts, jackets. It will be cool and you will be outside - walking - ALL DAY.

3. Wear Sneakers - no sandles or flip flops of any kind

4. Bring money for lunch - you may bring a bag lunch

5. Bring a pen....bring a camera too if you'd like

6. You may use your mp3 players on the bus ONLY! They cannot be used while on the Freedom Trail.

7. NO CELL PHONES!!!! Just like school - If we see or hear them, they will be held for you until we return to Illing. If your phone is your music player or your camera...come up with another plan...There is NO exception to this expectation.

8.We are scheduled to arrive back at Illing by 6pm.

We are looking for chaperones for our team field trip to Boston on November 4th. If you are interested in chaperoning, please contact Mr John Burkhardt or Mrs, Seanna Francoeur at 647-3400.

Students are presently studying the founding of the 13 original colonies and how the location of these settlements has a significant impact on the economic growth, and daily lives in the three colonial regions.

Student led Conferences will be taking place on November 17th, 18th, and 19th. We hope to see you all!
Please send in your conference request form as soon as possible.

Homework Club
Monday - Friday ~ 2:50pm - 3:50pm
Late Bus runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon
 
 
 
 
Classroom Expectations
Arrive on time
Be prepared (notebook, blue or black pen and completed homework)
Be Repsectful
Record assignments in your planner
Ask questions, stay for extra help, never give up!
 

Suplies you will need for class.

  1. 3 Ring Binder with a pocket folder to keep notes and handouts
  2. Plenty of white lined paper
  3. Plenty of blue or black ink pens
