Welcome to Ms. D'Arco's room!

Thank you for coming to visit!  Here are some of the things we've been hard at work on in the past few weeks.

Math - We have just started our work in Unit 11 in Trailblazers.  We are working on multiplication strategies such as the All-Partials Method and the Compact Method.  Please spend a few minutes each night reviewing your multiplication and division facts. 

Reading - We are beginning to learn the roles for Literature Circles as a class using the novel Riding Freedom by Pam Munoz Ryan.  For the next few weeks, our Reading Journal homework will be to practice these roles in preparation.

Writing - Since we have taken our CMTs, we've started learning about Expository Writing. 

Social Studies - It's hard to believe that the State Fair is less than two months away!  Be sure that you're beginning to work on your diorama.  April vacation is an excellent time to get some of your work done.  In the Regions text, we are learning about the history and heritage of the Northeast.
