End of Schoolnotes!
At this point in time, The Web Portal is not yet able to update automatically. You will need to check the web site on a regular basis knowing that I usually update every weekend.
The other difference is that there will be no calendar of events. I will try to post dates in the narrative.
The updated news on the Web Portal will be posted in a different color than the rest of the posted information so that you can easily see what has been added.

Thanksgiving!
For Thanksgiving, our prompt was to write about what we would do if we were a turkey at this time of the year! Each child also painted a "personalized" picture turkey!
As we discussed our favorite Thanksgiving foods, we also made a " scented slice of pumpkin pie" that went along with a Bedtime Book about pumpkin pie!

Miscellaneous Items
*Birthdays are a special time for children and if your child would like to share a treat with classmates to celebrate this event, please send in a note to set up a day to send in the treat. Brownies, cookies, Rice Krispie treats, etc. are always appreciated by the children. Cupcakes can be messy and I find that most of the time, only the frosting is eaten!
*Activity worksheets that compliment the thematic units that we are studying may come home incomplete. I have accumulated many of these worksheets and often will give the children the opportunity to bring home several related activities to use as "homework" or keep in a bin for those inclement weather days! If your child is not finishing his/her work, please know that I will contact you.
*PE--The PE teachers have asked that children wear sneakers on the day that PE is scheduled. If they do not have sneakers, they may have have to sit out and watch the PE activity rather than participate. Thank you!
*Recess--school policy states that children will not be allowed on the playscape with open-toed shoes. You may send in shoes that they can change into but, they should be able to change into the shoes without assistance.

Helpful Hints!
*Please pack a nutritious snack and a drink (in a bag) for your child each day. Please be aware that we have peanut allergies in each session.
*A large backpack will be necessary for school each day. Please have your child bring only necessary items (snack bag, sharing, folder) so that notices and projects will fit into it!!
*Please have your child bring the "Hopewell Folder" (that will be coming home on Wednesday or Thursday) to school every day. Try to encourage your child to remember to give me notes that you have put in the folder and I will have the children use this folder to bring home papers, notes, etc. each day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
