This month is poetry month.  We will be reading poetry and attempting to write some poems of our own!  We have a field trip to the Trash Museum this month, where we'll learn the importance of recycling, reducing and reusing to help our environment.

Language Arts:  We have begun the long o vowel and word families, such as ow, oke, and oat.  We are reinforcing our Word Wall words and expecting to spell them correctly each time we write them.  As we read, we continue to discuss stories and retell them in our own words.

Writing:  We will continue to write stories until the end of the year.  This month we will try some poems, too!

Science/Social Studies:  Ourselves, Environment, United States/Mapping

Math:  shapes, 3D shapes, and polygons
