In Reading our strategy of focus has been to make mental images while we read and listen to books.  Mental images can help you understand the story better because you can see the setting, what the character is doing, and imagine how you would feel if you were the character.

In Writing our area of focus has been beginnings and settings.  When writing stories we have been trying to "hook" the reader in by starting with a sound, question, thought, or action.  We are also learning how to write a descriptive setting...one that helps the reader create a vivid mental image when reading! :)

In Math we have really been working hard at our rapid fact recall.  We are also focusing on telling time and counting change (both the exact amount and making change when shopping)!  We also realized that the more we practice our skip counting, the easier our facts, telling time, and money skills get! :)
