ROOM 17 Notes
SPELLING- Word lists will continue to come home every Monday. Students should be reviewing the list to look for sound patterns.
READING- We will be working on our Open Ended responses. It will be important for students to have their Good Fit Book. Starting in January, students will be charting the amount of daily reading they are completing and they will have daily assignments that relate to thier Good Fit Book. Each student will be choosing their book from our Library.
MATH- We will be starting the Multiplication Facts this month. I will begin with a review and then move on with one Multiplication Table a week. Students should be reviewing the facts nightly. Please see the web site listed below for some great practice!
CURSIVE- We have just about finished all of our capital letters! You will see more of your child's assiginments completed in cursive.
WRITING- Students will be working on expanding their paragraph writing into Narrative Stories. They will be working to have a beginning, middle and end. Included should be lots of details and ACTION!
SCIENCE- After finishing up our Maps and Globes book, we are off to the Phases of the Moon. Get out your telescopes!
