Just because something is impossible does not mean it is not worth doing - Derrick Bell
Welcome to all our new Herons!
I am so excited to start a new school year with all of you! We have so much to do and learn together! I hope you are ready for some really great science 'stuff' this year.
Our first unit is the Human Body. It is by far my favorite unit. I love exploring how our bodies work enabling us to do so many different activities. I cannot wait to show you all about your inner workings. How do you have the energy to play a sport or do your homework? How can we stand upright against the gravity of our planet? We will learn all this and more from the beginning of the school year until Thanksgiving break!
Please do not ever hesitate to ask me any question you have, I love questions and if I do not know the answer we will find it together. Along that line, I also love to get incorrect answers to the questions I ask during class...no I am not looking for you to answer incorrectly, I just want you to answer me. If your answer is incorrect, it really helps me help you! My job is to teach you, if everyone already knows the answer, I do not have a job to do. Let me know what you are thinking, let me help you grow. Wrong answers are completely OK in my classroom.
I cannot wait to meet all of you and I am really looking forward to our year together! See you soon!
