Current topics:
Ceramics: Throwing on the wheel. Continue to take notes and reflect on your process in your journals. Include progress notes and sketches of your work. Final Projects: Create a set and a series. Set: Three or more different pieces which work together. Series: Three or more pieces which relate in concept, shape, color or function. You may throw or handbuild, or a combination of both. They must be glazed and fired by the last day of school. Your journals must be up to date. A final responsive essay will be handed out in class. You may complete this during the final period or hand it in before the exam begins.
Intro to Art: Colored Pencil Animachines. Use pencils to layer color creating contrast, form, value and texture. Coming up: Expressionist Painting. Final project: Make a book incorporating work from your sketchbook and projects.
Sculpture: Finish Balsa Meso-America piece. Next up is plaster/papier mache forms. Final Project: Your choice of medium for a bust of a person or animal. Include prep sketches and notes.
