Important Final Dates and Deadlines:

 English 1H

Thursday 6/4: Quiz on Acts 3&4 (Finish reading Romeo and Juliet by Friday!)

Friday 6/5: Vocab Test Lessons 5-8 (guide will be attached below). Final Exam Review Sheet will be attached by Saturday afternoon, 6/6.

Monday 6/8: Romeo and Juliet Test. Acts 4 & 5 Quotes due (4 universal/4 specific).

Tuesday 6/9: Review for Final. (Study Guide attached below.)

*Final Exam: Monday 6/15, 8:15 am

Wednesday 6/3: Vocab 8 Quiz!

Thursday 6/4: Return Summer Reading Contract! Review for Final. Study for Vocab 5-8 Test.

Tuesday 6/9: Vocabulary Lessons 5-8 Test (Study Guide attached below).

Wednesday 6/10: Review for Final. (Study Guide attached below). Hand in Literature Books!

*Extra Credit: Due Friday, June 12th. Write a paragraph explaining whether or not you think Holden Caufield from Catcher in the Rye, would be friends with Biff Loman, from Death of a Salesman. Discuss their ideas about being a fake and a phony. You must use 3 specific examples from Salesman about Biff, and discuss if Holden would agree/disagree with, or like/dislike Biff's actions.

*Final Exam: Tuesday 6/16, 10 am

Debates: Include 3 facts from chapter for argument, plus two facts for rebuttal. Hand in summary of position and outline of arguments.

Skits: Include 5 facts from the chapter; hand in script.

Papers: Include 5 facts from the chapter, plus your opinion. Must be 2-3 pages. Cite your sources!

English 1H

Monday 5/18: Act 2 Quiz! (Act 2 quotes due.)

Tuesday 5/19: HW: Read Act 3, Scene 4 by Tuesday 5/26. Act 3 Quotes (3 universal and 3 specific) due Thursday 5/28.

 English 2R-04

Monday 5/18: List and define 5 virtues you'd like to live by, then write a paragraph explaining how you'd attempt to put at least one virtue into action. (Use Franklin's virtues from "The Autobiography" on p. 130 as examples.)

* LATE Salesman essays will NOT be accepted after Monday 5/18!

** Extra Credit: Write a poem, rap, song or short story using 10 vocabulary words from Lessons 1-8 (attached below). This assignment can be used to replace one vocabulary quiz.

English 2R-03
