Essay Questions for the Exam:
You will need to answer two of the following essays as well as the "Bruce Almighty" questions on the exam. Remember to be detailed and specific in your explanation. Use examples whenever necessary and/or possible.
1. You are sent as a missionary to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to people who have never heard of Jesus or his message. Explain who Jesus is (both the "Jesus of history" and the "Christ of faith"). Explain what things you would do in your daily life to live out the gospel message.
2. Describe the role of the Holy Spirit in the Bible. (Hint: Explain who the Holy Spirit is. Was the presence of the Holy Spirit felt in the Old Testament? If yes, when and how was it experienced? In the New Testament, what role did the Holy Spirit play? Provide examples of the Holy Spirit's involvement in New Testament life.)
3. If Jesus Christ were alive today, how would he use technology to spread the gospel message? Provide specific examples of technology and how it could be used to share the Good News.
4. Provide a brief biography of the current successor to St. Peter. (Hint: Name, birthplace, education, significant events, recent visit to America are a few suggested topics to cover.)
