1. List the following in order of their importance to colonial protest: pamphlets, boycotts, mob action, committees of correspondence. Justify your ranking.
2. Explain the following quote. "Insurrection of thought usually precedes insurrection of deed." What does this mean? In what ways is this generalization an accurate description of the coming of the American revolution?
3. List the three most important battles of the revolutionary war and justify your selections.
4. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner. Why, then, did he state in the Declaration of Independence that "all men are created equal"?

Test on Chap. 5 - Sections 1 and 2. Take home essay also due today. Essay should be one or two paragraphs. Select one of the following: Compare and contrast the government in Sparta and Athens or explain the focus of education and the value system in Sparta.

Assignment re: guest lecture is due. Make sure you hand in the notes you took during the lecture and answer the questions about the lecture in bullet form. This is a quiz grade for Chap. 2.
Due Mon., Nov. 9:
Sports Project due today. See details on handout. Today in class, each student will present a 2 minute presentation identifying a "snapple bottle top" fact about your talent or sport and a brief demonstration.
World Studies Honors
