AP European History: This course will take us from 1450 to the present. Expect to study general concepts as well as specific examples taken from primary source material. By May, you should not only have extensive knowledge of the historical background of Europe but also an understanding of the evolution of European society, government, and politics as they exist today. AP Government and Politics:
We will be studying general concepts used to interpret U.S. politics as well as the analysis of specific examples. AP Gov is designed to provide analytical perspectives on government and politics in the United States. Major emphasis is placed on political ideology and evolution of its democratic institutions. Composition and Multicultural Literature:This course has two distinct yet interconnected areas of focus: writing and literary analysis. Students will write expository, narrative, and descriptive essays. Research methods will be taught and the completion of research papers will be required. Readings and discussion will focus on multicultural literature that reflects the diversity and humanity of a global society.

Journalism: Students will acquire skills in information gathering, interviewing, and writing news , feature, and editorial articles. Journalism Honors and Honors II students will develop additional skills in layout, editing, and management. The course is dedicated to the production of "The Prophet."
