THE STUDENTS WILL START READING COMPREHENSION IN THIS CHAPTER.
UNIT 6: THE HOUSE
THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN THE NAMES FOR THE ROOMS OF THE HOUSE. THERE WILL BE READING, WRITING, AND SPEAKING ACTIVITIES.
DESIGN YOUR DREAM HOUSE 3D DIORAMA OR DRAW A PICTURE OF YOUR DREAM HOUSE
LABEL THE ROOMS IN SPANISH.
I WILL TEACH THE STUDENTS HOW TO GIVE AN ORAL PRESENTATION IN SPANISH
UNIT 7: THE FAMILY
THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN THE NAMES FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER. THEY WILL FILL IN A FAMILY TREE AND COMPLETE RELATIONSHIP SENTENCES BASED ON COMPREHENSION AND VOCABULARY.
THE STUDENTS WILL CREATE THEIR DREAM FAMILY COLLAGE. USING PICTURES FROM MAGAZINES OR COMPUTER GENERATED, THEY WILL LABEL/IDENTIFY EACH MEMBER OF THEIR NEW FAMILY. ORAL PRESENTATION.
UNIT 9: FOOD
AFTER LEARNING THE WORDS FOR FOODS AND THE DIFFERENT MEALS FOR THE DAY, THE STUDENTS WILL WORK IN SMALL GROUPS TO CREATE A RESTAURANT SCENE IN SPANISH
- INCLUDES MAKING A MENU IN SPANISH
- CREATE A SHORT RESTAURANT SKIT
UNIT 11 PARTS OF THE BODY
WE WILL HAVE FUN LEARNING THE PARTS OF THE BODY THROUGH PLAYING SIMON SAYS AND IDENTIFYING MISSING PARTS ON JOSE, A CARD GAME WHICH SHOWS VARIOUS PARTS OF THE BODY MISSING ON LITTLE JOSE.
UNIT 13 TIME AND COLORS
THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN HOW TO TELL TIME IN SPANISH THROUGH MANIPULATIVES THEY WILL USE INDIVIDUAL CARDBOARD CLOCKS TO SHOW TIMES THAT I INDICATE AND TO PRACTICE WITH A PARTNER.
COLORS WILL ALSO BE INTRODUCED.
TELLING TIME AND COLORS WILL BE REINFORCED IN A READING COMPREHENSION EXERCISE.
UNIT 12 CLOTHING
THIS UNIT WILL REVIEW VOCABULARY FOR PARTS OF THE BODY AND COLOR WORDS.
THE STUDENTS WILL CREATE A PAGE FROM A CLOTHING CATALOG. THEY MUST SHOW 5 ARTICLES OF CLOTHING: IDENTIFY, IN SPANISH, THE NAME OF THE ITEM AS WELL AS A COLOR DESCRIPTION.
GRADES 5 & 6
ALL WORK ORAL AND WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS FROM WORKSHEETS, WORKBOOK, AND TEXTBOOK WILL BE GRADED.
