Reading- The students are going to work with the book "The Courage of Sarah Noble". This is a historical fiction about a girl Sarah Noble who came in 1707 to cook for her father while he built the first house in New Milford.The students will be studying new vocabulary words used in the book. We will complete activities relating to the story and also make a classroom quilt. The students will also solve some math problems relating to the book.
Spelling- spelling words are in assignment pad.
Grammar - We are still working on verbs (past, present, future).
Math- The student are working on division as well as multiplication. Please practice with your child daily. The students will be also solving word problems relating to division and multiplication. The students will learn key words to recognize which operation is appropiate to use to solve the problem.
Social Studies- We continue to discuss Native Americans.
Science - We are discussing different types of environmnets (deserts, grassland, saltwater ecosystem, freshwater ecosystem, forests). We will also describe how organisms adapt to their environments and recognize that hibernation and migration are instinctive behaviors.
Tests: Spelling - Friday
Math: Multiplication tests every day
