We are well under way in our first grade class. We are getting ready for Halloween. We are excited about our costumes and parties. We are so happy that it's on a Saturday....more time to trick or treat!!
We have completed our first reading unit and are halfway through with the second. The children are learning many sight words and sounds helping us to decode new words. They are using their good reader strategies to begin reading independently. Practice theses sight words and read everyday to strengthen their skills.
In science, we continue to learn about animals. We completed our study of bats and birds. Now we are studying creepy crawly insects and spiders. Do you know the difference? Ask your children, they do!!
There is so much to learn and look forward to this year. We can't wait!!
