Welcome to the Principal's Message Board for SHES:
Thursday, April 26th has been designated as “Take your son/daughter to work.” If your child will be a guest at your work location please make sure you send a note to your child’s teacher upon their return, as this will be considered an excused absence. If your child returns without the note, it will be considered an unexcused absence. Thank you for your cooperation.
The last for day to submit school transfer requests in Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) for 2012-13 will be accepted through April 20.
All students are expected to attend the school assigned to the address at which the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) resides. Students will not be withdrawn from or cease attending their assigned schools unless an official letter of transfer is approved and received. For more information, contact the Office of Student Records and Transfers at 301-952-6366 or 301-567-5702.
Congratulations to the following students who had participated in our annual Joe Corbi Fundraiser. Elena Lopez sold the most number of units and won a Sony MP3 player. Our 2nd place winner is Deanna Stokes who won a $50 VISA gift certificate and our 3rd place winner is Alyssa Sreeram who won a $25 VISA gift certificate.
Once again, thank you to all who made this the most successful Joe Corbi fundraiser.
With the onset of the allergy season, there will be many students wanting to stay inside during recess. If your child needs to stay in the building and not participate in recess due to allergies/asthma, you will need to notify your child’s teacher in writing and include the specified time frame such as the number of days or period of time (from month to month).
Please be aware that your child will be excluded from outdoor activities (examples: Field Trips, Field Day, Recess) that occur during your requested time frame. If medication needs to be administered to your child, you will need to obtain a medication form from our Nurse, Mrs. Smith. Children staying in for recess will be sitting in another teacher’s classroom. It is important that you impress upon your child that they are not to be disruptive as he/she will be a guest in that teacher’s classroom.
All visitors are welcome in the building. Please sign in at the office and receive a visitor’s badge before proceeding to your destination.
