Our 2nd quarter awards assembly will take place the morning of Wednesday, February 10th and hope you can take time out of your busy schedule for this assembly. The times are as follow:
· 8:15am –8:45am - 4th, 5th and 6th Grades
· 8:45am – 9:15am - 2nd – 3rd Grades
· 9:15am – 9:45 am - Kindergarten - 1st Grade
With Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching, each grade will determined what activities will be included. A notice from your child's teacher will be coming home soon.
Valentine Day’s is just around the corner and our Green Team have been busy selling various items such as lollipops, bracelets, pencils, notebook ranging from $0.50 to $2.00 between now through Tuesday, February 9th. Items will be delivered on Thursday, February 11th. Please support our Green Team. The Green Team is also making plans for a Spring carnival and they will be in need of volunteers to help make this a successful event. Stay tune for further details in future issues of the DYK.
Maryland State Assessments, ”MSA” testing for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students, are on the following dates:
Reading: Tuesday and Wednesday March 9th and 10th
Math: Tuesday and Wednesday March 16th and 17th
We need to have all students arrive on time and avoid arriving late (tardy). It would be greatly appreciated if you could try to schedule your child's appointments around these dates.
I am pleased to announce our Student Government Association (“SGA”) officers for Scotchtown Hills: President: Donte Thomas; Vice President: Shakeer Saintilma Secretary: Sue-Ann Moore Treasurer: Bridget Manful. Ms. Insyxiengmay (“Ms. I”) is our coordinator. Please stay tune for upcoming events in future issues of the DYK.
Ms. Blouvet has already received a handful of completed forms from students for a free Six Flag Ticket. These students have read and recorded six hours or more of reading. As of today, January 29th, there are only 10 more days to read for your free Six Flag tickets so keep reading. Remember to turn in your completed and signed paperwork by Friday, February 8th.
We have had a few students that are arriving to school with a fever. Your child must be clear of the fever without medication for at least 24 hours before returning to school. If your child comes to the Health room with a fever, you will be notified to come to school to pickup your child immediately. If you are unable to pickup your child, please make arrangements to have a relative, friend or neighbor to pickup your child. Also, if your child is absence from school, upon their return, they must have a note from you explaining the circumstances.
Please make sure your students are coming to school with their coat, hat, gloves, and a sweater. Our students go outdoors when the temperature is above 32 degrees.
All visitors are welcome in the building. Please sign in at the office and receive a visitor’s badge before proceeding down the hall. Teachers are not allowed to hold a conference while they are on hall duty or on instructional time. If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher, please leave a message in the office or you may email them.
