Welcome to the Principal's Message Board for SHES:

Congratulations to our instrumental band and orchestra students as they performed their annual Spring Concert.  They did an outstanding job.  I’d like to thank all the parents who attended the morning and/or evening performances.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  The students also saw a special performance by our very own “Scotty’s Squad”.  Scotty’s Squad is comprised of several teachers and staff members!  Who knows, maybe you’ll see them in Hollywood!  I’d also like to thank the staff members who attended the evening performance.  Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. FitzGerald for the awesome job he did with our students!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Scotchtown’s annual Career Day.  We had many interesting guest speakers and performers.  Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to support our school!  I would also like to thank Mrs. von der Linden for hosting another wonderful Career Day.

Representatives from Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School visited Scotchtown this week to discuss what our students can expect as they transition next school year from elementary school to middle school.  A reminder to our sixth grade parents, Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School will host a parent night at 7 PM on May 22nd.  If you have any questions about parent night, please contact Eisenhower Middle School at 301-497-3620 and speak to the seventh grade counselor.

Field Day is next week! Volunteers are still needed.  If you are able to donate your time or you can donate water bottles or juice boxes, please contact Ms. Santuccio.

I hope to see everyone tonight at the end of the year festival, sponsored by the PTA.  The festivities begin at 5:00pm.  If you are able to volunteer your time, it’s not too late.  Upon your arrival, please seek out Mrs. McCorkle, PTA President or Mr. Stokes, PTA Vice President.  A great time is promised to be had by all.  Thank you for supporting our last PTA sponsored event of the school year.

All visitors are welcome in the building.  Please sign in at the office and receive a visitor’s badge before proceeding down the hall.  Teachers are not allowed to hold a conference while they are on hall duty or on instructional time.  If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher, please leave a message in the office or you may email them.

Have a peaceful weekend!

Sincerely,

Tracie Prevost
Principal
