Where We Have Been
This week we finished our MSA Testing. Our whole class gave 300% each day of the test. Throughout testing we worked on our first story in our Voyagers theme called Across the Wide Dark Sea. We practiced making inferences as our reading skill. In language, we discussed simple and complex sentences. We continued with our fractions and probability unit in math. In social studies, we explored the lives of several famous women and created a biography web using the Kidspiration program. We also culminated our solar system unit with a cute Readers Theater group project we are going to try to do as a podcast.
Where We Are Going
Next week we will be continuing our fifth theme called Voyagers. Our tested skills for this theme inlcude predicting outcomes and text organization. In language, we will begin learning about pronouns. Our new science topic will focus on the environment. In math, we will continue finishing up with fractions and probability.

Technology Media Contest
Earlier in the school year, our class read Choose Your Own Adventure stories during our Off to Adventure theme. During that time, we worked in cooperative groups to create our own Choose Your Own Adventure PowerPoint presentations. We had to type our stories, create hyperlinks to the correct pages, learn how to save our work in a shared folder, and import our own artwork to use as the background for our slides. We entered one of our stories into the Tech Literacy Contest and we had a winner! The winning authors of "The Ice Cream Cart" were Bryce, Leah, Jacob M., and Jenny. They will be given their awards on Tuesday, March 31 at Prince Street Elementary at 7:00. Congratulations!
