RECENT NEWS:

August 14, 2008

I am looking forward to hearing from new students and parents, and meeting some of you at the PTA Back to School Bash and Open House on Tuesday, August 26.  The Bash begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by a PTA board meeting at 6:00; the classroom (room 106) will be open for your visits starting at 6:20.

Please understand that many parents will be visiting with questions and concerns during this time, so it would be unprofessional of me to engage in extended discussions about your child.  Due to privacy and legal concerns, I cannot discuss any element of a child's IEP or 504 plan without the student's case manager and/or an administrative designee present.

I will certainly be available to conference in a more professional and in-depth setting after the first week of school is complete.  I am available for conferences starting September 8 between the hours of 11:05 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. weekdays.  I am not available before or after school for conferencing.

Don't hesitate to get in touch over the summer via e-mail; my address is listed below along with my school phone and voice mail extensions.

Enjoy the summer!

HOMEWORK:

Homework assignments are posted every day in each classroom.  The students' planners are the primary method for recording assignments.  Technical problems and teacher absence could result in assignments not being posted to Homework Live in a timely manner.  If students are present in class they are expected to have their homework assignments copied in their planners; Homework Live is only a backup.

Homework assignments will usually be posted daily by 4:30 p.m. on Homework Live; there is a link below to reach the website.

LINKS:

Below you'll find a list of links that may be helpful, including some great literary and grammar resources of interest to students as homework helpers and parents as homework-checking helpers.  There is also a link to my personal website, where you can learn more about me and link to pictures of my family and classroom.
