I will be teaching Art 6, 7, and 8 for the 2008-2009 school year. All art students will receive a course organizer on their first day in my class. This organizer includes information about the artroom success plan, discipline and grading, supplies the student will need to have, and some other important notes. The last page must be signed by a parent or guardian, and returned to me with your child within the first 5 days of school.
All art students are required to have a sharpened pencil and a workable eraser before class begins, so that they can make the best use of class time.
Art students will also benefit from having a small manual pencil sharpener, a fine point black permanent
marker, and an ultra fine point black permanent marker. These items are not required, but strongly recommended. If you want these items, but cannot get them for various reasons, please contact me through schoolnotes or call the office at 262-2262.

Areas of exploration and study will build upon what was learned in 7th grade art. 8th graders will be doing more 3-dimensional art this year, such as sculpting, ceramics, collages, papier mache, textile work, and paper relief designs. At the end of each semester, 8th graders will do an individual project which they will develop themselves.
