10/29 Thursday:
I encourage parents to check out the Moodle site where students can take practice "mini" SOL quizzes. You will have to have them log in in order to show you. There are 7 quizzes that have to be taken before November 12th. Each quiz can be retaken 3 times...I want the students to go back and correct them in order to get a %100!!!!
Progress reports were sent home today.
10/30 Friday:
Complete the top five world's "Most Powerful" list and write your paragraph as to why you ranked the countries in that order.
11/2 Monday:
Please read chapter 30 in book 8 and complete the questions on the acquisition of Hawaii.
11/4 Wednesday:
Please read chapter 29 in book 8 and complete the questions on the Spanish American War.
11/5 Thursday:
Students need to complete a "Yellow Journal" called "My Amazing Day". It must be one page in length-handwritten. The object is to tell the story of your ordinary day...but to exaggerate the details and/or stretch the truth to make the story more interesting. This is the same thing that yellow journalists did which was a major factor in causing the Spanish American War.
Also, please make sure to finish the MOODLE quizzes before next week!!!!
11/6 Friday:
The Imperialism and Spanish American War notebook evaluations were handed out today. All notebooks will be collected next Thursday (11/12). The test will also be Thursday. It is almost the end of the 2nd six weeks.
