Third grade is a challenging year. It culminates with End of Grade (EOG) tests which are demanding. Student focus and attention are required throughout the year.
Reading is key to student success. Your child should read AR books for 30 minutes each night. Every student should strive to attain his or her individual AR goal.
Other notes: Nightly homework should be in planners.
Please initial planner nightly.
PE class is on Monday.
Lunch is from 11:40 to 12:05.

We entered into the sixth theme in reading, Smart Solutions, but we only completed one lesson. I opted to begin a review and familiarization for the EOG test on the 19th of May. I was very pleased that the class was using strategies that we had employed and practiced during the course of the year. Please continue to work with, read with, and encourage your child in preparation for this significant milestone in his or her school experience.
We finished our social studies unit and will return to science to learn more about the skeletal system, muscle system, and joints.This competency goal has five skills, and the classes got of to a very good start. We have drawings, puzzles, and models that have captured their attention. If anyone has a background in medical practice who would be willing to make two presentations on X- rays, I'd welcome your assistance. (After EOG's)
Keep encouraging your kids to read and make their AR goals for both points and % correct. It would be fun to have the entire class meet their yearly goals and get to go swimming.
