I am amazed with how fast this year has flown by. The students’ excellent attitude and hard work has made this year a wonderful one. As you all know we have EOG’s at the end of this month, which is important. However, try not to stress out your child too much. Yes, these tests are important, but as long as the children try their hardest we should be proud of them. To help them feel more confident and less stressed please check out the helpful tips at the end of the newsletter.

Here’s What We’re Learning
English Language Arts: The students will be learning different strategies for the EOG’s. We will read a variety of selections and then respond to comprehension questions. The students will also take part in literature discussions that will also help their comprehension. For homework I will send home reading samples for the students to complete. Instead of having spelling homework the students will have this instead.
Mathematics: We will finish off with measurement and probability. The students will explore both the customary and metric system. Following measurement we will do a variety of activities that will help the students understand probability.
Science: The students will dig deep into soil. They will learn about the different types of soil and what it is made of.
Social Studies: The students will continue to learn about the community and its government.
