Reading with the Hurricanes

I hope you are signing your child’s reading record for the Hurricane’s reading contest.  I will collect those cards on Friday, February 8^th to submit the results.  This is also the record I will use to verify that children are reading each night.

Moon Tracker Journal

Moon tracker journals are due on Monday, February 4^th.  The children need to work hard on completing these journals following the directions in their journals.  This will be a significant part of their Science grade this quarter.

Castle Project

I am sending home directions for the children to create a model of a castle this month to go along with our study of fairy tales and fictional stories.  They may use the directions offered if they are stumped for an idea.  BUT they may also be as creative as they like in creating a castle that they dream up.  I would like the children to be the creator and parents to just assist.  Remember: you have already done 3^rd grade, it’s your child’s turn.  I want this to be fun.  We will be doing some research and discussion here at school.  They may turn them anytime but the last day I will accept them is Friday, February 29^th.
