Welcome to Ms. Drinkard's SchoolNotes site!
Theatre Arts is a thrilling subject and a great growing opportunity for students!
In Theatre I we will explore the basics of theatre. Students will be given the opportunity to perform weekly! They will leave the class with the knowledge of the parts of the theatre, 9 areas of the stage, basic directing skills, a basic understanding of the history of the theatre, basic interview and resume skills, and much more!
In Theatre II students will focus mostly on the performance area. These students will learn a variety of performance styles (i.e. classical, contemporary and children's theatre). These students will get to work on both stage performance and film performance. They will also begin to work on some directorial and technical theatre skills.
In Honors Theatre A and B, students will begin to do some theatre research. These students will focus a great deal on their roles as young directors and authors!
Each level of theatre can be a great deal of fun! All theatre classes challenge students in the areas of history, writing and performance. Students exercise their imagination every day in my class. Students who rise to each challenge will be able to self discover and succeed in many areas outside of the classroom as well as in the course!
