Hello! Welcome back to a new school year, 2008-2009. Truly, we are in this experience - learning, life - together, so let's purpose from the outset to make the very best of it. Here is a brief description of what is in store.
Second Chance Alternative Learning Environment (S.C.A.L.E.) is a dynamic program whereby selected students in grades 6, 7 or 8 are placed for a 45-day period in a small class setting apart from the regular classroom in order to re-gain focus and academic motivation.
The students are taught the four core subjects and are also given the opportunity for physical education. The objective is to keep pace with the subject curriclum being followed in the regular classroom.
Assignments vary in type and length. Should you have a question about this program, a question about a student assigned to SCALE or a question pertaining to your student who is in the SCALE program, I welcome your call to the school - 704-857-7038. The best time to reach me is 8:00 - 8:30, or from 3:15 - 3:45.
