1. Math--Sorting by size, shape, color, kind; position words and patterns; alike and different
2. Reading--Previewing the ABC's; nursery rhymes; rhyming words; concepts of print; fairy tales
3. Units--Coming to School--rules, behavior, school helpers, safety; Getting to Know You--names, colors, author/illustrator; book and print awareness

HELP WANTED
1. Please work on cutting and coloring.
2. Please help your child learn to tie his/her shoes, button and zip pants and coats.
3. Send all monies in an envelope labeled with child's name, how much money, what the money is for, pin number
4. Encourage neatness in all work.
5. Encourage good listening and following class directions the FIRST time they are given.
6. Please continually review skills we are learning.
7. Please have car riders to the classroom by 7:50 to unpack and be ready to start at 8:00.
8. Please send us a note when you plan to pick your child up early.
9. Help your child learn the pin number ASAP.
10. Please support the PTA project that begins on Sept. 4.
REMINDERS
1. Library day is on Tuesday. Return books that day. We will begin checking out books after Labor Day.
2. Send notes for the office when your child is absent.
3. PE Day is on Wednesday-wear tennis shoes.
4. Please send notes if you know your child will be picked up early.
5. Return homework on time. This will begin after Labor Day on Sept 2.
6. Ask your child periodically if he/she needs pencils, crayons, erasers, glue sticks.
7. Please check, sign, and return brown envelopes each day. This is our way of communicating with you every day.
