Here's the Scoop:
Well, we have been working hard in Math and Reading. We have been learning how to add and subtract. The children get these two easily confused, so this would be a great skill to work on at home. We tell them that adding is joining things together to see how many you have in all. Subtracting is taking things away , so they need to see how many are left.
In reading, we are finishing up Theme 9 and next week we will begin Theme 10. It is the last theme in our reading series. This theme is called A World of Animals. We have been learning new word families and the children are doing well on their reading and improving on their writing. Continue to work on this at home.
We are excited about our Mr. Al field trip. We have listened to some of his music and the children seem to really enjoy him. We will also be going to Patterson Farms on May 9 (more information will come), and doing the May PTA program on May 13. Watch for the weekly newsletter for more information.
