Welcome to First Grade!! During the first quarter of First Grade, your child will read and write numbers to 25. We will also estimate quantities 1-25, count objects in the set to 25 and create and extend patterns. In Writers' Workshop your child will stretch words and listen for sounds as a strategy for writing words. In reading we will review high frequency words and blend short vowel words as will are making word families. In reading we will also retell stories and order events. .
