Jennifer B. Kennerly is the new principal at China Grove Elementary School.Kennerly, who will replace outgoing China Grove principal Terry Whitesell, is new to the Rowan-Salisbury System this year. She left an assistant principal position at Mooresville High School to become a curriculum coach at Carson High School.
Kennerly started her career in 1990 as an exceptional children's teacher at H.M. Arndt Middle School in Hickory.
Kennerly taught social studies and coached women's basketball at Freedom High School in Morganton from 1991-1998.
Before she became assistant principal at Mooresville High School in 2000, she served as assistant principal for two years at St. Stephen's High School in Hickory.
She hold a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in school administration from Gardner Webb University, and she completed the principal's executive program in 2000.
