Welcome to my school notes page! I am the ESOL teacher at Enochville and Bostian. I am so happy to be serving both schools this year. I have enjoyed meeting and working with your child and the staff at both schools. Don't be confused if you hear your child say they work with Mrs. "K". It is easier for them to remember!! I am at Enochville on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and at Bostian on Tuesday and Thursday. Please feel free to call me or leave me a voicemail message at either school. We also have a parent coordiator at our Ellis Street office, Maria Nunez. She speaks Spanish so that might be helpful. Her phone number is 704-630-6131. This year I am using our new state adopted textbooks and materials that are very good and coordinated with the grade level curriculum. I feel that we are working on all of the goals that their classroom teachers are striving to achieve. The students have enjoyed learning and I hope will continue to improve their language and math skills. Please ask them what they do in ESOL class!! In the month of February I am doing the state IPT test with all ESOL students. This is an anual test to see if your child has improved in language skills of reading, speaking, listening, and writing in the last year. When I get the scores back I will send a copy home for you to see their improvement!! It is very important for students to keep up with daily homework in their class and to try and do their best on testing days. Thank you for all the extra time you spend with your child.
