This school year has gone by so fast. I can not believe that we are in our last month. What a great year it has been. Our students have learned so many new things. Our IMPACT projects were amazing. From our kindergartners to our fifth graders, everyone surpassed our expectations. The fourth grade received the first IMPACT Academy Award from the county for a fantastic unit on "animal adaptations." It has been a wonderful learning experience for all of us. Have a great summer, but don't stop learning.
How do our students find Accelerated Reader Quizzes?
Renaissance Place is our online AR site, and we are so excited. Through the help of our PTA we purchased the online version of AR which is called Renaissance Place. It provides us with reading quizzes, literacy skills tests, vocabulary quizzes and quizzes in Spanish. We now will be able to access all of the AR quizzes that we need. Remember, Millbridge students no longer access a written list at the Rowan Public Library. Students may go to the RPL website listed at the bottom and choose Online Catalog, AR Titles, then Millbridge, and they may search by author, title and reading level. Students may also go to the RenLearn website listed at the bottom. Choose order quizzes and choose United States. Next, a screen will appear where you can choose title, author or series. You are not going to purchase a quiz, but this is the only way to search the large database of over 100,000 quizzes that are available to Millbridge students. So, all you Musketeers out there, keep reading.
We hope your child will take advantage of the summer reading program offered at the Rowan Public Library. We sent home bookmarks with each child to tell you more about it.
We still have many areas of need in the media center. Please consider purchasing a book in memory or in honor of someone special. A bookplate will be placed in the front of the book. A special thanks to all the parents who have helped us in this way.
EBOB If your child will be in the fourth or fifth grade during the 2008-2009 school year, we need them to participate in our EBOB team. This stands for Elementary Battle of the Books. Our Millbridge team did a great job this year, and we plan to do even better next year. Below is a list of books for next year's competition. So, get busy reading.
