Well, we are moving fast into the 1st quarter and students are doing well in their new modules. The 1st week is orientation and that really helps to get students ready for the module concept.
We are getting ready to start a new tardy and sign out program here at CGMS so watch for the NEWS and follow the guidelines to be in the right place, at the right time doing the right thing. We are trying some new things but change can be good and it keeps things exciting.
The checkbook/statement lesson is every Friday for the entire nine weeks and we give thanks to First community Bank who donoted the supplies and also came to speak to the 8th grade. We will be getting on the bank's website and practicing on line banking for the next couple of Fridays. This is hands on learning I promise will be valued and used in the future.
We have also received our sewing supplies so the pillows will be being made in the class Soon. We have 4 new designs and I just have to get the batting and interfacing with commissioner money and we will be off and sewing.
Cooking, cooking, cooking. I know that is a big drawing card to my class and learning to cook and how to cook healthy and safely is so important!! It is not a cooking class, so we have to rotate modules so everyone gets a chance.
So, get ready to experience lots of exciting things that really will help in life. After all, it is LIfe Skills class.
