What can you do to help your child at home???

*Ask your child daily what they are learning about in school!
*Read to and with your child daily! Ask questions when you read.

Here are some great questions to ask: Who are the characters in the story? Where is the story taking place? What happened in the begining, middle and end of the story? What was your favorite part and why? What was the problem in the story and how was it solved? What does this story make you think of? Is this book like another book you've read?

**PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE addition & subtraction facts up to 18. The students should be able to give the answer as fast as they can snap their fingers.

Please remember to read with your child 20 minutes daily!!! It is so important that they read everyday!!! When they have finished reading a book with you, please ask them to retell you the story, without looking at the book. Talk about what happened first, next, etc. READING COMPREHENSION AND RETELL IS A MUST FOR HELPING YOUR CHILD SUCCEED!!!

Have a wonderful week!!!
