Welcome to Mrs. Hollifield 's
"Kindergarten Notes"
Can you believe this year is almost over?
We are having a great time finishing up on things and drawing and writing about our favorite things. We have been having fun with our unit about the beach and ocean life. We have enjoyed our Starfall books and will be taking the rest of the series home for our summer homework. We will go to the computer lab a few more times. We have been singing our favorite songs and counting down the days!
Always make reading to your child a part of your daily or nightly routine. Be sure to go over letter sounds and high frequency words each night. This is important to ensure success and confidence in your child here at the end of the kindergarten year, as they get ready for first grade. Encourage counting and recognizing numbers to 100. Try to do some interesting and educational things this summer and have your child draw and write a story about it. The importance you place on education will make a difference in your child's learning!
Thank you parents for all your hard work with your children this year. It has paid off. Everyone has grown and made improvement! That's what is so special about kindergarten! They grow up so fast and learn so much! I have truly enjoyed this class! Thank you for the privilage of teaching your child this year!
