The shared reading story for this week of Jan. 5 - 9 is "The Garden of Abdul Gasazi" on pages 397 - 413 in the reading book.  The vocabulary words for this week are:  awesome,  convinced, disappointed, impassible, incredible and discovered.  The definitions come home every Monday. Please study.  There will be a vocabulary test and a comprehension test on Fridays.

The spelling words for this week are: here, hear, new, knew, its, it's, our, hour, there, their, and they're.  The bonus words are homophones and        .

In Math we are still doing MULTIPLICATION.  Study those facts each week.  There will be a test on each set of facts.  Watch the agenda for when they will be.  We have tested on the 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12's facts.  This week will be the 6's.  Study and try to memorize. 

Accelerated Reading is half over for the second quarter.  Your child set a goal and will need to reach that goal by the end of the nine weeks.  Accelerated Math is half over also.  Each student will be trying to earn 15 stickers for math and reading with an 85% accuracy.   Please read nightly so you can get your points and stickers.
