The shared reading story for this week is "The Talking Cloth" on pages 217-229 in the reading book. The vocabulary words for this week are: wealth, royalty, collection, symbols, flourish, and embroidered. The definitions come home every Monday. Please study. There will be a vocabulary test and a comprehension test on Fridays.
The spelling words for this week are: spring, knee, throw, patch, strong, wrap, three, watch, street, know, spread and write. The bonus words are subtraction and government.
In Math we have worked on standard and expanded form, place value, comparing and ordering numbers and rounding numbers. Now we are working on addition and the properties of addition. Subtraction will be coming up next and then MULTIPLICATION!
Accelerated Reading has started. Your child set a goal and will need to reach that goal by the end of the nine weeks. We have also started Accelerated Math. Each student will be trying to earn 10 stickers for math and reading with an 85% accuracy. Please read nightly so you can get your points and stickers.
