Thank you for coming to our Open House last Friday. We had perfect attendance, and I enjoyed meeting you and all the children. We look forward to a wonderful year together.
Every week I will write you a note about that week. Included in this note will be information about homework as well as what we are studying. In addition, there will be information about important events that you will want to be aware of. You can always write me a note or leave me a message on my voice mail. I believe in good communication since your child learns best through the parent — teacher — child triangle.
Going home this week are two important vehicles for communication:
1. The Flight Plan Notebook that contains your child’s agenda. Please look at all the materials in this notebook, including the Second Grade Information Section.
2. A Homework Folder In this folder is your child’s homework for the week. Homework is due on Friday, and we ask that your child return this folder by or before Friday of each week. Your child will also begin writing the homework schedule in his/her agenda, as well as the spelling words for that week. FYI: We will have a spelling test on Thursday and Friday each week, beginning this week.
This is probably enough information for now! Just know that you will be given more information each week, and, by the way, this letter will be posted on my web site should you like to communication that way.
Thank you in advance for helping your child this year. You are so very important in your child’s education. I look forward to getting to know you and your child!
Take care,
Mrs. Hallquist
