Welcome to Mrs. Ausmann's Science Page
Welcome to 7th grade Science! I am very excited to be a new member of the 7th grade Jaguar Team after teaching 8th grade for several years upstairs. The different age group and curriculum are a refreshing change.
Our classes have gotten off to a great start already. We have started to cover some of the human body systems including the skeletal and muscular systems, and skin. We will continue to cover more of the human body as we prepare for our "Body Worlds" Discovery Place field trip in October. (Please continue to send permission slips and money for the trip if you have not already)
We have just sent out our first team progress reports on September 13. Please check the organizer on that date for all of your current grades in all of your classes. This will be done every two weeks.
Parents: Remember that our Jaguar team of teachers are available during our daily planning time at 1:45-3:15pm. Call us if you have any questions or concerns at 704-857-1512. We now have individual voice-mail. You may also e-mail us by clicking the above address.
Also, please call the homework hotline for daily homework assignments, and insist that your child do them and show them to you when completed. That hotline can be reached at 704-857-1852.
We are working hard this school year with 8th grade and high school in mind. We expect a lot more responsibility from our students. We are staying tough with assignments and discipline so that our students will be prepared to go to South Rowan or Carson!
Keep using the weblinks below. Some are fun and gross, while others are great sources of scientific information. (Remember, it is better to use models of dissection than to kill the poor, sweet, defenseless creatures of our world; plus, models of dissection don't stink or get your hands dirty!)
See you in class!
