Miss Gardner and I continue to enjoy working with your children. November is a busy month with several days off for the children. There is a teacher work day on November 4, holiday (Veterans Day ) on November 11, students will be out for Thanksgiving November 26-28. Your child's first report card will come home on November 5, please sign and return only the brown envelope. I want to thank you for coming in for your parent conferences. I have never had such a willing group of parents, your children are very lucky to have you. Thank you for reading Book-It with your child each night. Soon many of your children will be bringing home books they can read. These books have a repeated vocabulary and few words. They will need to be read and practiced with an adult before bringing them back to school. You will continue to find the schedule of letters on the monthly calendar. It is very important that you encourage your student to practice the new letters and sounds at home while continuing to use the letters already taught. Encourage them to write using the word wall words and letter sounds they are learning. Please practice reading and writing numbers to 30, if your child has difficulty with that skill. Please review with your child the work that comes home in their Tuesday folder to reinforce what we are working on in the classroom. If you have any questions for me please feel free to email or call me 704-278-4952 home, 704-278-2750 school.
