What's going on in Miss Garmon's class?

Reading: In reading, we are beginning a new unit on famous Americans. We read the story from the basal for two days only. The other days are spent on individualized guided reading groups. Please make sure your child is reading this selections at home and studying his/her vocabulary as he/she will have a test each Friday.

Math: In math, we just finished a unit on data and graphing. We will be working on fractions until Christmas.

Science/Social Studies: In science and social studies, we are studying weather and the revolutionary war. Additionally, each child will be required to do a science project that can be entered into the science fair. Please begin thinking of a scientific question that can be answered through experimentation and research.

704-216-0220 is the Inclement Weather School Closing Phone Hotline. Do not call the school regarding school closings. Please call this hotline or listen to your local news channel for information.
CODE A: 2 hour delay for students
CODE B: Closed for students
*If an early dismissal occurs, your child will be sent home by the way indicated on the Early Dismissal Form on file from the beginning of this school year.
