Summertime is here! I trust you will all have a safe and healthy break. Healthy habits such as good handwashing, eating a balanced diet including fruits and vegetables and getting exercise help us all stay well. During the active months of summer remember to safe practices such as: wearing bike helmets, careful supervision around water, wearing sunscreen and staying well haydrated.
IMPORTANT IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION:
If you have a child who will be enrolling in kindergarten next year, it is not too early to go ahead and get their kindergarten physical and last immunizations done. That way you will avoid the crowds over the summer. Up-to-date immunizations and a kindergarten physical within 12 months prior to starting school are required.
Rising 6th grade students should get their Tdap booster before entry into the middle school. Proof of this vaccine will be a requirement. You have received connect-ed messages and written instructions about this from the school. The health dept. will have special clinics for this on June 24 and July 23 all day. They offer immunizations by appt. only during other times as well. The Tdap booster can be obtained at your doctor's office, too. Children without proof of this immunization within the first 30 days will be excluded.
Please contact me if I can be of help to you.
