In order to be successful in today's world we all need to present ourselves in as positive a manner as possible. Good communication as an important part of presenting oneself positively. We must have and make good use of a great vocabulary base in order to successfully communicate in today's global community. As English speaker, our students need to be expose to and use a variety of vocabulary that applies to their ever growing needs. We have welcomed Wordskills into our classroom as a tool to assist us in remembering and using as much to their gradelevel vocabulary. We have experienced success with this but its continued success is determined by how much work we all continue to put in, teachers, students and parents. We learn and use new vocabulary everyday. It is important that students review their vocabulary nightly. Parents who support healthy study habits usually have children who are more engaged. Let's all encourage our students to do their best.

We will explore the following objective this quarter: * Students will focus on the importance of determining the point of view * Students will learn to create character sketches * Students will work on identifying and creating propaganda * Students will continue to work on reading for information and using information to best answer selected questions.
We will also review previously covered material *Poetry *Figurative Language *Imagery *Persuasive Writing
Just A Reminder!!!!!!
I continue to quiz my students on a weekly basis on vocabulary and material previously covered in the classroom. Please monitor these grades as they do factor into your child's overall grade in my class. Late assignments are becoming a problem. I will deduct points for each day that assignments are late and will not accept asignments that a more than three days late. Parents, please continue to review and sign your child's agenda on a daily basis. Let us stay in close contact with each other.
My Schedule My Planning Period extends from 12:30am - 1:30pm Monday through Friday. You are welcomed to come by at any time, but please call ahead of time to avoid disrupting precious instruction time.
