Dear Parents and Students,

 The following is a tentative syllabus of the areas that we will be studying during the second semester of this school year. It is a rough guide designed to ensure that all areas in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study competency goals for 8^th grade science will be covered. These goals are the foundation for the North Carolina End of Grade Competency Exam.  Expect students to have science homework approximately 1 time per week. 

Please discuss with your children the importance of behavior conducive to learning for all students. A few students causing disruptions result in loss of valuable class time for all. Some students are missing classroom instruction due to absences. If a student is absent from class, he/she needs to attend after school remediation on the following Wednesday. Any student who feels they need extra assistance with a topic is also welcome to attend after school remediation on Wednesdays.

Learning will continue through the last day of school.
